My PS3 theme extractor can be found here. This program unpacks Playstation 3 Theme files (.p3t). As I mentioned in one of my posts, P3T files are basically “compiled” XML files, i.e. an XML file along with the assets it references packed into a binary format using headers, offsets, etc. The background images in the P3T files are stored as JPEGs whereas the icons themselves are stored in Sony’s GIM format, which seems to be a format optimized for texture loading.

Hello Anoop,
just like to thank you for the ps3 theme extractor, i was the creator of the snakeball theme, and to my horror i lost off all the data i used to create the theme ( long story)…all i had was the .p3t, and now thanks to your software at least i have the pngs. So thanks very very much…now if you could just write software to extract the 3d data i used to create the pngs…i would be over the moon.
